Bug Description

Binary package hint: spe

kiki and python-wxglade are not neccessary to run spe. I have successfully removed them using dpkg -r --force-depends but on every upgrade they are installed anew.
could you modify the package and remove these to from dependencies.

also for kiki there is a non-Qt alternative Kodos which is wx.

Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex (this problem exists for a long time)

As far as I can see kodos depends on python-qt3. If you have a suggestion for a better wx or gtk based regular expression editor, I'm open for it.

Why not make any regex editor a dependency?

Depends: kiki | kodos | regexxer | visual-regexp | redet

This way, every developer can choose which regex editor he likes best.
