I have test it and i am using it on Ubuntu 7.10 (tested it on Fedora 7 and 8 with the latest gspcav1 drivers - wich they are now in the latest kernel) with skype and ekiga over video4linux (v4l) not v4l2, and i have no problems, clear image and no freeze; i know that mr. Xaard changed the senssor type in the gspcav1 driver, try to install it from source and change the sensor type (if you have another sensor).
