problem to compile spca5xx with actual versions of gcc

Hello, I can't compile spca5xx because it seems not to work with this version of gcc. would the problem be resolved by using another version of gcc ?
Note that I first tried to compile as normal user, following the "readme" instructions, wich indicate to use gcc 3.5 or 4.0. I will also submit this bug here http://sourceforge.net/projects/spca50x/

I precise : I first followed thes (old) instructions http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/gspca_spca5xx and so installed all dependencies.
