Using 10.10 Beta with 2.6.35-20-generic and up to date latest via dist-upgrade
Running

sudo software-properties-gtk --enable-ppa=psyke83/ppa; sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get install pulseaudio-equalizer

Returns with
