Bug Description

Jammy / software-properties-gtk:
  Installed: 0.99.17

When trying to enable a service that is not available the error message provide no useful information about what went wrong (cf screenshot)

and in the journal:
ubuntu-advantag[1461382]: Failed to parse UA status: Operation was cancelled

In both cases the error message should be similar to UA CLI:

UA Infra: ESM is not available for Ubuntu 22.04 (Jammy Jellyfish).

The ua client doesn't currently provide any information about failures so we can't pass this information onto software-properties. There is an improvement being added to ua to give error codes and messages which we will take advantage of when it is available.

Changed in software-properties (Ubuntu):
status: New → Triaged
assignee: nobody → Robert Ancell (robert-ancell)
importance: Undecided → Medium
