Bug Description
As instructed, this is a split from bug 972310.

Bug 973219: Ubuntu Software Centre does not display certain items in the Installed tab
Bug 973220: Ubuntu Software Centre halts when trying to display certain items in the Installed tab
1. Go to the Installed tab of Ubuntu Software Centre.
2. Type "libreoffice" into the search bar. You get a number of items, with a prompt at the bottom of the bar to "Show 20 technical items".
3. Now select the down-arrow and select any of Canonical Partners, For Purchase, or Unknown. Although the screen goes blank, the "Show 20 technical items" (or "Hide 20 technical items" if you have selected it) continues to show. This is confusing.

Hi Paddy! I simply cannot reproduce this bug when following your steps. In each case, the "Show N Technical Items" panel disappears upon selection of any of the items "Canonical Partners", "For Purchase" and any PPA.
Could you please try launching from the terminal as shown:
$ software-center
And then reproduce the bug, and paste any output in the terminal to this bug?
Thank very much, and my apologies for needing to ask for more info for each of these bugs!!
