Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy. Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

Hello, the same things happen here. When I tried to open software-center by clicking on an icon (on the bottom panel) it crashed with this message;

/* software-center crashed with DocNotFoundError in buffer_icons(): Document 733 not found. */

Some more informations, which differ little from those given by the user Stefen Burlew.

DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 [1]
Package: software-center 5.2.2
ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-24.39-generic 3.2.16
Uname: Linux 3.2.0-24-generic i686
ApportVersion: 2.0.1-0ubuntu8
Architecture: i386

Values for ExecutablePath, InterpreterPath, PackageArchitecture, ProcCmdline, ProcEnviron are the same.
Traceback value is pretty the same, but differ in two places (I marked it with '---' and '+++' signs);

Traceback (most recent call last):
--- File "/usr/share/software-center/softwarecenter/ui/gtk3/models/appstore2.py", line 379, in buffer_icons
+++ File "/usr/share/software-center/softwarecenter/ui/gtk3/models/appstore2.py", line 365, in buffer_icons
     doc = db.get_document(m.docid)
--- DocNotFoundError: Document 38258 not found
+++ DocNotFoundError: Document 733 not found
