When trying to download software I receive this message: "Failed to download package files. Check your Internet connection." I check and have an internet connection, but each time I retry I receive the same message. I have also tryed rebooting with no success.

Problem persists. I tried changing updates to manual and get a similar message when updating manually, but updates do download after canceling notification.

This same problem is encountered in 11.04 as well.

i had the same problem but when i logged off and tried to log with "Gnome" instead of "unity" my problem was solved
i logged in "Gnome classic"
