App installed from deb not findable under "installed" in software center

Bug Description

I installed an app from a deb file (the Python Wing IDE downloaded from http://wingware.com/downloads ) - when opening the deb file the install is done through the software-center ui. After installation the install is not recorded in the software-center "history" and the app can't be found by searching "installed" software.

(So the only way for me to uninstall the app through the software-center ui appears to be by re-launching the same deb file.)
