Bug Description
Binary package hint: software-center
Software center is very slow to open.
On my system (3Ghz dual, 6GB) syaptic is less then 2 sec, software center is over 10.
The long response time can leave you wondering if you clicked it properly or not and is just annoying.

Hi A Jenbo, thanks for your report. I assume you are running Maverick 10.10, is that true?
We recognize the startup time problems in Maverick Software Center have made improving this a priority in Natty. You'll be glad to know that we have made some excellent progress in this area so far, with more improvement to come. We are tracking this work at bug 677088, so I will mark this one as a duplicate of that one. Please take a look at bug 677088 to see if you want to make any comments and to track the progress of the effort.
For your reference, this chart displays the history of startup time measurements for the Natty cycle so far (for a reference Dell Mini 10 machine):

Thanks again!
