Bug Description
Binary package hint: software-center
I think it would be useful if the package daemon would notify the user that package transactions have been completed, at the conceptual level of the task they asked for - e.g. after installing all the monsterous dependencies of Java, it would simply notify "Eclipse has been installed" with the app's icon.
It could be argued that for short transactions, particularly where the user still has Software Centre open/focussed, this could be annoying.

Yes, I agree, that it would be useful to have a libnotify notification after the requested software has been installed, if software-center has lost focus.
