Bug Description
Binary package hint: software-center
This is maverick rc upgraded from a clean lucid install.
The upgrade did not go cleanly: it hung when I told it to replace my changed grub.d/20_os-prober (which I'd moved to 11_os-prober to put XP above memtest86), switching to a vc fried X and I couldn't find any way to get the upgrade going except to `shutdown -r now` and a prayer. X ran degraded on reboot, aptitude told me to `dpkg --configure -a` to make everything better and everything seemed to come back. That was yesterday.
