Bug Description
In the name of consistency and convenience, software-center should bind ^Q and ^W to an exit function. I frequently find myself pressing ^Q, then the program does not quit, then trying ^W, then it still does not quit.
In addition, the "Close" option in "File" is binded to ^W but it doesn't work.

Ctrl W works for me in 2.1.22.3. If it still doesn't work for you, please reopen this report and provide exact steps to reproduce the problem. For example, does it fail if you launch USC and then press Ctrl W as soon as it has opened? Or do you need to focus something else before it fails? Thanks.
