Bug Description
Binary package hint: software-center
Simply, when you open the software centre and go to the installed software list, the text at the bottom on the main pane shows a link to see all items.
This link on my maverick system shows "Show 32120 technical items"
Once I click on it, I see all packages, but, the link at the bottom now says "Hide 1765 technical items"
Which one is it ? It should be the same count in each screen.

- installed software counts are wrong and inconsistent + "Show _ items" count is wrong in "Installed Software" |
This seems to be because the "Show {number} items" link is counting all the items available in that source, when it should be counting just the installed ones.
A way to see the problem with many fewer items: daily/ppa" > "Add Source" > "Close".
1. "Edit" > "Software Sources" > "Other Software" > "Add" > "ppa:chromium-
2. Install Chromium.
3. Wait for the PPA to show up as a child item of "Get Software" and of "Installed Software" (bug 634999).
4. In "Get Software" : "PPA for Ubuntu Chromium - Daily Builds", click "Show 14 technical items" to see that 4 of 15 items are installed.
5. Switch to "Installed Software" : "PPA for Ubuntu Chromium - Daily Builds".
What happens: The disclosure link says "Show 14 technical items", just like the one in "Get Software" did.
What should happen: The disclosure link says "Show 3 technical items".
