Bug Description
Binary package hint: software-center
Ubuntu Software Center 2.1.15, Ubuntu Maverick
Some applist views in Software Center contain many items, and when these views are selected there can be a delay of up to a few seconds or more before the list is displayed. Currently, a wait cursor is displayed during this period, but this isn't terribly effective as the applist panel remains blank during this time and for many folks it feels as if nothing is happening, or that the program has frozen.
A spinner in the applist panel would provide much clearer feedback that something is happening while an applist is loading.
Of course, the ultimate goal is to reduce or eliminate these kinds of delays but that is a subject of other bug report(s).
