Bug Description
Binary package hint: software-center
In all GNOME apps that respect the GNOME HIG, Alt+Left means "Go back", and Alt+Right means "Go forward".
While going back/forward is possible with the mouse, keyboard navigation is not as well supported: software-center permits going back if the Backspace key is pressed, and doesn't have a way to go forward with the keyboard.
* Note: Software Center actually does currently support back/forward navigation using the keyboard; using Ctl+[ for back navigation and Ctl+] for forward navigation (refer to the corresponding menu items "View->Go Back" and "View->Go Forward". These are the same key combinations that are used by Firefox.

Hi Lucian, thanks very much for your report and for your proposed fix in the linked branch. Software Center actually does currently support back/forward navigation using the keyboard; using Ctl+[ for back navigation and Ctl+] for forward navigation (refer to the corresponding menu items "View->Go Back" and "View->Go Forward". These are the same key combinations that are used by Firefox.
Your branch would implement the additional accelerators and so, as you point out, would provide HIG compliance. We are in UI freeze right now but it doesn't seem that this change would require an exception since it would not be visible in the UI, but let me check in with folks on Monday about it.
Thanks again!
