software-center does not respond to click on "Install"

Binary package hint: software-center

Trying to install new packages with Ubuntu Software Center does nothign when clicking "INstall" button, either from the result list or the "More Info" window. Synaptic is NOT running in the backgroup when this happens.

Tried multiple different packages with same result.

Rebooting does not solve the problem.

Suspect this was caused by a recent update.

Installing packages from SYnaptic does however work well.
