software center will not start from applications menu. When you click on it it looks like it is going to open but then it just shuts the window in the bottom panel and won't open.

Binary package hint: software-center

I go to the applications menu and click software center. A window pops up in the bottom panel and it looks like it's going to open. However it doesn't open it just closes. Oh and I am running Lucid.
