Bug Description

In Ubuntu 10.04 the Software Center flickers and adjusts the scrolled position repeatedly when installing or removing software.

When trying to file the bug through the "Help > Report a Problem..." option in the Software Center I received this message: "The problem cannot be reported: This is not a genuine Ubuntu package"

@Jeff, Gary: could this bug be a duplicate of bug #563163 ? Is the flickering happening during installation/removal, or shortly after?

The problem reporting issue would be a separate issue (which I cannot reproduce here).

I couldn't reproduce problem following steps in #563163 because of dependencies. I also can't reproduce the problem I was experiencing. I tried installing/removing different applications to see if it would happen, but haven't seen it.

Maybe an update I did since then fixed whatever the problem might have been, or maybe the problem I was experiencing was only happening when I had another particular piece of software open that was conflicting with it? Or could it have been something with Compiz? I have since adjusted/reset and altered setting in there, maybe that has affected it?
