When I chose an app and hit install everything turned peach and I couldn't see the list or the progress bar anymore.

Hi swoll1980, thanks very much for your report. I'm wondering if you may be experiencing the same problem that is described in bug 544424. Could you please check that bug and let us know if it matches the symptom that you are seeing?

If it does not seem the same, could you please provide any additional information that might help us to understand what is happening. Specifically, please let us know:
1. Is this reproducible?
2. If so, what specific steps should we take to recreate this bug? Be as detailed as possible.
This will help us to find and resolve the problem.

Yes that seems to be the same issue. The installation completed, but the UI froze as a peach colored blank screen

Hi again swoll1980. Ok, thanks for the info. Hopefully it is indeed the same bug because it should be fixed now with the following package versions (please refer to bug 544424):

software-center 1.1.21
aptdaemon 0.111+bzr342

Please upgrade your lucid install to the latest package versions and test to make sure that you can no longer reproduce this issue. In the meantime, I will mark this bug as a duplicate of bug 544424. If you find that the issue still occurs, please be sure to respond in this bug and include the output of the following on the command line:

apt-cache policy software-center
apt-cache policy aptdaemon

If the problem turns out to be a different one, we'll remove the duplicate status. Thanks very much!
