Could you please run "sudo update-apt-xapian-index" and restart software-center? Does that help and show all PPAs?

Hi mvo, I can confirm this bug. Added PPAs are not showing up in as channels in the navigation pane. I don't see them showing up in the xapian queries either, even after a 'sudo update-apt-xapian-index' and software-center restart. I'm currently investigating.

I retract the latter part of my last comment. Running 'sudo update-apt-xapian-index' and restarting software-center does in fact cause the newly added PPA to appear in the list.

So mvo, the potential fix appears to be what you have suggested; that we need to update the database index more often, specifically upon adding or removing a source (as this is a time-consuming operation, we want to do this only when necessary).

Confirm that running sudo update-apt-xapian-index indeed fixes this problem

This should be fixed with the latest software-center (1.1.23 contains the latest fixes but its still in unapproved). 1.1.22 should already be much better but misses a case where sources are added.
