Bug Description
Binary package hint: software-center
Hi,
my friend find a wrong translation for ubuntu software center for the italian language.
The button "Get Free Software" of this
http://
it was translate with this "Scarica software gratuito"
http://
"Scarica software gratuito" means "download software for free" and not "Get free software" and it's not the same!
"Scarica software gratuito" means download software that cost 0 euro.
Do you understand?
It think a good translation could it be "Ottieni Software Libero".
Thank you for your attention
I think this is a mistake, please correct it :)
Thanks you

Hi,
thanks for this bug report trying to make Ubuntu better.
The question about using "libero" instead of "gratuito" or "gratis", is not valid though. The word "free" in Software Center is used to mean "gratuito", not "libero".
For more information see bug #442882 at comment #5. /wiki.ubuntu. com/SoftwareCen ter
Another interesting lecture is this one: https:/
We decided to use "gratuito" also because there is not only free-as-in-speech software in the repositories (flash, adobe and the non-free codec that you can install).
As long as there are no comments in the code stating that "free" is used as in "free-speech" and not as in "free-beer", we will keep the "gratuito" translation.
Thank you.
