software-center crashed with signal 5 in _XReadEvents()

Bug Description

This happened after I tried installing a Brother printer scanner driver by double-clicking on the deb. It turned out that it was already installed. Also, I can't dupe: I can double-click on the deb now and software center is fine. If you want to close this bug under the circumstances, that's fine.
