low contrast with dark gtk-3 theme

If you install a gtk-3 theme with white text, (such as Adwaita Dark http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2011/10/use-adwaita-dark-as-your-system-theme )you end up with a very low contrast in the software center, because it only uses theme suggestions for some widgets and colors.

While the update seems to solve the selection issue (i don't rember having a problem with it, so not positive)---when selecting youI get contrast, white text, on grey background. I still get extremely low contrast on my dark theme---white on very-light grey.

I am also having a problem with this, as this issue shows up when using the Salience GTK theme. Makes app titles and descriptions nearly unreadable. I only just came across this issue while doing a Google search looking for ideas on how to fix this through the theme itself.
