Bug Description
There are no rulesets available for version 2.9.6.0 of Snort which is currently available on Trusty. The latest version of Snort available now is 2.9.7.0 and there is a version 3.0 in beta. For a long term support release, Snort probably needs to at least be upgraded to a version that is still being supported. You can find the end of life statement here: http://
