no sound after dist-upgrade

upgrade ue to 13.10 and lost my sound. everthing is turned on that i could find. but no sound. aplay-1 no sound card found. even though ca106 show up which my creativelab card.

this is not a problem with the 'snd' package, but with Ubuntu in general.
