FeatureFreeze exception request for snapd 2.61.3

Snapd 2.61.3 is contains changes that is important for the installer deb version of snapd for Noble. The intended release was 2.61.2 (which contains all the changes), but 2.61.3 was required to fix issue with building for noble.

The changelog is available here https://github.com/snapcore/snapd/blob/2.61.3/packaging/ubuntu-16.04/changelog, the raw git changelog is available here: https://github.com/snapcore/snapd/commits/2.61.3 (note that the debian changelog is auto-generated from the merges of the git commits so there is usually no need to look at the raw git commits).

All validation, including unit tests, integration testing and certification testing was completed and the snap version has already made it to stable. Risk is considered low.

Currently waiting for foundations to assist with PPA uploads for focal, jammy and mantic. Refer to SRU https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/snapd/+bug/2039017

Update: We encountered a build issue for snapd 2.62.2 targeting noble, working on it, but means we do not have deb available yet.

Hey, thanks for putting this together. Just to add a quick note, you can combine an FFe but with an SRU bug, too. :)

Anyway, after going through the changelog, I think it looks reasonable. I haven't seen the builds or test results (link missing!?) - but I trust that prior to uploading, you'll have that all tested and in good shape.

For next time and other FFe that you may ever raise, can you add links to builds, tests, or whatever testing you've performed? That becomes very handy and convenient and inspires confidence in signing off for an FFe.

Anyway, that said, I think we're all good here and I am happy to approve this FFe. Please go ahead.

P.S. I am not in the Release team officially yet but hopefully that should happen soon but take this as an official approval. o/

Please note that this FFe was changed to target snapd 2.61.3 (previously 2.61.2), because to add a small fix that allows it to build on noble.

I can confirm that the build for noble is fixed. Also that snapd and cert validation was completed for 2.61.2 (all the content) and snapd validation was completed for 2.61.3 (single small change only).

The only difference b/w .2 and .3 is "Install systemd files in correct location for 24.04" which isn't a feature, really, so yes, still approved! :D
