This can be reproduced by:
1. Attempting a login, e.g. using Python:
$ python
>>> from gi.repository import Snapd
>>> Snapd.login_sync ("", "", "")
2. Entering your password in the PolicyKit dialog
3. Killing snapd, i.e:
$ sudo killall snapd

Step 1 causes snapd-login-service to start, 2 to make a connection to snapd and 3 to cause the socket to be closed. Because snapd-glib wasn't correctly disabling the socket callback it would be called on a destroyed object.

This is a relatively low risk bug, since snapd-login-service crashing will just cause it to be restarted on the next call.

Thanks for uploading the fix for this bug report to -proposed. However, when reviewing the package in -proposed and the details of this bug report I noticed that the bug description is missing information required for the SRU process. You can find full details at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates#Procedure but essentially this bug is missing some of the following: a statement of impact, a test case and details regarding the regression potential. Thanks in advance!

An upload of snapd-glib to xenial-proposed has been rejected from the upload queue for the following reason: "Please provide SRU information in the relevant bug, and particualrly mention that this is updating to 1.4 rather than just fixing a particular bug. It might be worth getting the TB to look at a special SRU process for snapd-glib alongside the existing snapd and snapcraft processes.".
