Bug Description

I just got my new Zepto G14b laptop and are using an updated Karmic install. The thing is that I'm unable to change the brightness of the screen. It doesnt even change when I plug/un-plug the AC-adapter.

When I use the 'Fn'-keys for changing the brightness they seem to work as the notifiaction works for it, but noting really changes on the screen. Same thing with the brightness-applet for the Gnome-panel.

Earlier snippets from the syslog, which is included, says something about the power-management. But it could also be about the earlier problems I had with the battery power and such, which now is fixed, but I still included it just in case.

Otherwise I cant seem to find anything about it in ither dmesg or syslog. Except that it doesnt recongnize the keycodes when I press the 'Fn'-keys. But I figured, when they do work, that's not important.

Keep upp the awesome work, everyone!

Hi Daniel,

Can you take a look at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Hotkeys/Troubleshooting and attach any additional information here? Thanks.

Sure, here it is, but still the keys works and Gnome recognize them. It looks more like the signal for actually changing the brightness doesn't work.

I finnaly got is linked to the packade 'smartdimmer' which is made just for changing brightness with nvidia-cards and even certain Zepto-laptops. This is one of them.
