fatal: You are running slurmd as something other than user slurm(64030). If you want to run as this user add SlurmdUser=root to the slurm.conf file.

Bug Description
While the package correctly creates the user slurm, trying to run slurmd by calling
"service slurmd start" will try to run it as root, which will fail with the default configuration.
