Slurmctld won't start if "FrontendName" is not set. This is not ideal in clusters which are not CRAY or Blue Gene machines, where you have a Front-end machine.

In all other machines, this won't work.

It’s basically the one from the examples, with the hostname fixed.

is your architecture amd64?

scontrol show config

slurmctld -D -vvv
