Bug Description

Kubuntu 13.10 64bit

2014-03-12: installed skype from Ubuntu Repo, but no sound.

From the page:
...http://www.webupd8.org/2013/10/get-sound-working-in-skype-with-ubuntu.html
I learned the resolving for original skype installs
...sudo sed -i 's/^Exec=.*/Exec=env PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=30 skype %U/' /usr/share/applications/skype.desktop

Checking /usr/share/applications/skype.desktop I descovered that this line had in my Ubuntu-install
...PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=60

Setting it to 30 brought the sound back.

Thank you all for the extraordinary work with ubuntu.

Hope this helps someone

I can confirm that this fixes problem in Ubuntu 14.04 i396. After upgrade from 12.04 sound was completely gone, unless pulseaudio is disallowed to autospawn (and so volume controlls goes missing...).

Thanks rawi!
