3. When saving scan as pdf, it seems to be something wrong in the stream compression.
If saving only one scanned page, it results with pixelated image with bunch of pixels out of position
If saving multiple pages as pdf, the result is unreadable
Saving it as (loseless) png has no problems

Same issue here with a Dell wireless scanner. I don't think the hardware matters, as the images are scanned fine by Simple Scan, and I can save the scanned pages individually as PNG files.
But saving them in a PDF results in a file that has parts of the scanned pages overlaying each other with some transparency. These PDF files are not usable. (This used to work fine just a few weeks ago, so some update must have messed something up.)
