Bug Description

simple-image-reducer crashes w/o a error message in U 18.04 and in U18.10

If simple-image-reducer starts from GUI or from CLI it is possible to add file addresses/names to proceed. The setiings / options can be chosen. When the "Execute" button is pressed the simple-image-reducer window disappears. There are no result files written.

Starting fom CLI (just type simple-image-reducer at prompt and enter) does not even return an error.

I was not able to identify any related entries in /var/log/syslog or in dmesg.

This bug is present on 4 of our machines. All are running U18.n and have been updated from U 16.n.
