Black screen when capturing selection

After upgrading to Ubuntu 12.10 with a ATI Proprietary drivers installed whenever I select the "Selection" tool in shutter the entire desktop is replaced with a solid black color. Cropping tool works and text appears ok however any selection (after double click) also appears solid black.

Same problem here while using Gnome Shell with fglrx driver.

Also running Gnome Shell with fglrx-update. Here is something else that may help: when I take a desktop screenshot, only what was on my primary display is black, while my secondary display shows just fine. Capturing a window on my secondary display also works, but not on the primary display.

I'm using fglrx-update and running 3 displays, although all of them are black.

Affects me just the same, When I do a window grap, it appears to be fine, but the image is all black. When I use the selection tool, The whole screen is black, except the red cross hairs, it also saves a black image.
