Bug Description
Whenever there are hundreds of photos getting uploaded / published in Facebook or Flickr, there must be an option to minimize in the progress window, so that it would be easy to continue surfing through the album instead of dragging and dropping somewhere along the sides of the screen.
Hope this is a valid request.

A minimize button alone wouldn't help, since Shotwell doesn't allow you to interact with the program while publishing is in progress. What you really want is this:
