NEWS (and some other files) not included in package

Bug Description

The upstream files NEWS, AUTHORS and THANKS are not included in the
package. It'd be nice if they could be - particularly NEWS.
(debian/rules talks about it, but it still doesn't end up in the
package AFAICS.)

Thanks, I will have a look at installing the NEWS though it seems upstream didn't update for the .91 .92 and .93 update we got in precise so I'm not sure how useful it will be... is there any use to have the authors and thanks files installed?

ok, so the "rules" part not working is not really a bug, from the buildds log

"pkgstripfiles: processing control file: debian/shotwell/DEBIAN/control, package shotwell, directory debian/shotwell
.. removing usr/share/doc/shotwell/changelog.gz"

upstream changelogs are cleaned to win some CD space
