Bug Description

Binary package hint: shotwell

I find the resolution options for publishing to flickr too limiting. Current choices:

 - Medium 500 x 375
 - Large 1024 x 768
 - Original Size

Many of my contacts have monitors 1650 or 1920 pixels wide and view the slideshows full screen, so it seems like a shame not to be able to offer a higher resolution than 1024 x 768 without uploading the full image (8 MB+ on recent SLRs).

The "Export Photo" dialog has a nice custom pixel entry field - would be nice to have the same for Flickr exports.

Hi,

I have same problem, i found a dirty workaround: edit Shotwell source and add your own resolutions...

Here's a patch to add 4096 resolution.

I hope it could help you until developpers add better settings for flickr.

Many thanks for this, I'll give it a go when I get home. Looks like it's fairly trivial to add resolutions, so hopefully this enhancement can be made with ease by the Yorba guys for future versions.

We've decided to add two new resolutions for the 0.8 release:

- 2048x1536
- 4096x3072

In a future release we may add the ability for users to enter custom resolutions.
