Thank you for your bug report. To what service do you try to publish? Could be bug #1453549 if that's facebook you use

Changed in shotwell (Ubuntu):
importance: Undecided → Low
status: New → Incomplete

I wished to publish on PicasaWeb, but as I did not even get the configuration window, this does not matter...

Publication still completely broken on 15.10 after dist-upgrade.

Slight differences :
1- the ONLY choice is Piwigo and trying to "add an account" crashes shotwell

2- Even after enabling all the publications add-ons, Picasa does not show in the "Publish" menu

do you have unity-control-center-signon installed?

Nope.

Using synaptic proposes ONLY unity-control-center-signon-autopilot package, not unity-control-center-signon

Correction :
I found unity-control-center-signon in the repositories, but the dependencies list is huge.

I suppose this part was not intended in the Ubuntu MATE architecture.

seems like an issue with your apt sources, you can also find the deb from https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center-signon

not really no, it's part of unity, why was listed as a desktop having the issue in the bug description...
