Bug Description

Hello. Ubuntu 21.04 Upgrade to computers with low UEFI models (circa 2012) will result in boot failure.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy. Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

without details on what machine you're installing on, it's impossible to know if this is LP: #1925010 or a different bug. However, we did specifically block release upgrades from 20.10 to 21.04 in the release upgrader because there were known issues with 21.04 on older machines. Marking this as a duplicate of 1925010.
