Bug Description

Binary package hint: mime-support

Putting `.md` on the end of a text file sets the mimetype to `application/x-genesis-rom`, this is very annoying since many github projects use markdown readme files (README.md).

It looks like this extension is defined in /usr/share/mime/packages/freedesktop.org.xml, which dpkg -S says is part of the shared-mime-info package. It's still there in oneiric too [1].

This has been fixed upstream: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=27441 & http://cgit.freedesktop.org/xdg/shared-mime-info/commit/?id=eb5f17c1ae435ab4aaf267b9373903be05448f94
Though, imo, people shouldn’t be redefining extensions, use .markdown instead.
