Bug Description

Binary package hint: sessioninstaller

Singular string: The package catalog %s requests to install the following software.

Plural string: The following catalogs request to install software: %s

Just translated it into Polish and would like somebody to review these English strings if there are formed correctly. For me it looks like there may be a mistake. Perhaps there is no bug but someone should review it.

Singular: [calatlog%s] requests to install software
Plural: [catalogs] request to install: [%s]
??

Second thing: "The package catalog %s requests to install the following software." Shouldn't here be a colon at the end instead of dot?

The message is about the catalogs and not the requested software.

%s is the name of a catalog or a list of catalogs.

GTriderXC, you're right, this string isn't quite grammatical. You can request something, or you can "request that" someone do something, but you can't "request to" something. (Unless the "to" is part of an auxiliary verb, e.g. "request to be excused", but even that's clunky.)

Unfortunately, even if that was fixed, I still wouldn't understand this string. What does it mean for a package catalog to request installation of software? Could you please give two or three examples of when this might happen, and what the named catalog (or list of catalogs) is in each case? I suspect there might be a much better way to word this.

Sebastian (or anyone else who knows), could you please provide a couple of examples of when this string would be used, then reassign back to me? Thanks.
