Bug Description

Serf 1.2.1 is required to build Subversion 1.8 with HTTP/HTTPS support.

The attachment "Fix running tests when builddir != srcdir" seems to be a patch. If it isn't, please remove the "patch" flag from the attachment, remove the "patch" tag, and if you are a member of the ~ubuntu-reviewers, unsubscribe the team.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner.

I see that Ubuntu 14.04 contains serf 1.3.3-1, while newer releases have serf 1.3.8-1, so I believe the main issue in this bug report can be considered fixed. However, there seem to be several patches here, so I wonder whether these should still be applied to the package, or whether the newer versions already incorporate them/contain alternative fixes.
