Bug Description

1)Ubuntu 10.04.3 LTS (Lucid Lynx)
2)sendip 2.53
3)following options are not supported in ubuntu as in gentoo linux

Additional options:
  -n <num> send <num> number of packets. Default: 1
-w <num> wait <num> between sending each packet. Default: no wait
  -l <num> set packet len to <num>. Default: 10

  Dot1Q options:
  -qp <num> User Priority 0
  -qc <0/1> CFI 0
  -qi <num> Vlan ID 0

MAC options: If used, ALL have to be configured!
-ms <hex> source MAC. Default: MAC of best interface to Destination IP
Note: if -ms is configured, -md & -mi MUST also be configured
-md <hex> destination MAC address. Default: MAC of next-hop interface
Note: if -md is configured, -ms & -mi MUST also be configured
-mi <name> interface to send the packet. Default: best interface to Destination IP
Note: if -mi is configured, -ms & -md MUST also be configured
             Example: sendip 10.1.1.1 -mi eth1 -ms 00d0b7c3bfe1 -md 003088010203

So many scripts will fail if we will comment "source mac ,destination mac ,length , number of
packet" as mentioned in EV 147193. sendip is not even supporting interface to send .

The same command is getting failed for ubuntu

Linux rbos-pcref-15 2.6.28-15-generic #49-Ubuntu SMP Tue Aug 18 19:25:34 UTC 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux
root@rbos-pcref-15:/usr/bin# sendip 192.168.1.31 -mi eth0
sendip: unrecognized option `-mi'

4) it is not supporting additional option in ubuntu

This looks like it's an entirely different program with the same name and similar functionality. Can you provide a pointer to the exact Gentoo package it comes from? I failed to find a "sendip" package on packages.gentoo.org.
