Some sites don't accept "Control V" paste, Right Click -> Paste works

I have found a couple of locations that I can't paste text into an entry box using "Control V". Right click -> paste does work in all cases.

The most annoying one is the Google search box. I don't recall the very few others I have encountered. This began in about the last few weeks.
