Bug Description

Binary package hint: seahorse

I have a card reader and a gnupg smartcard to sign and encrypt emails.
If seahorse-agent is running gnupg can't access the smartcard, i get this error message:

$ gpg --card-status
gpg: selecting openpgp failed: unknown command
gpg: OpenPGP card not available: general error

if i kill seahorse-agent than gnupg can access the smartcard

Seahorse Version: 2.22.1-0ubuntu1 (Ubuntu Hardy)

If i install gpg-agent and activate it in ~/.gnupg/gpg.conf so that both gpg-agent and seahorse-agent is running the problem is solved.
So maybe it would be good to install gpg-agent by default if gpg is installed to make sure people can access their smartcard and use seahorse.
