Bug Description

Binary package hint: scribus

Ubuntu 8.04, scribus 1.3.3.11

Scribus-files can't be associated with scribus because Nautilus treats them as ordinary text-files. Under /usr/share/mime/packages is a file called scribus.xml that provides all the necessary information. So you have to update the mime-database by hand and have to restart the X-server in order to get things work. i think this should be done during install.

I also have the same issue with scribus.
Ubuntu 8.10, scribus 1.3.3.12.dfsg-1ubuntu2

update-mime-database should be added for postint and postrm of the package.

This is now fixed, at list by the last upload where I updated the Standard-Version to 3.9.5. With this revision packages could relay on a dpkg trigger which integrates the changes to /usr/share/mime/packages.
See the Debian policy section 9.7: https://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-opersys.html#s-mime
