Scribus not registered to open SLA files

Using Ghostscript version 9.18
Scribus works just fine but isn't registered to open SLA files in Nautilus, so when I right click on one or choose properties and "Open with" Scribus isn't listed anywhere as an available app. I suspect this is some kind of packaging problem not related to Scribus but wondered if anyone here has a fix as I tend to open a few files a day by the "find file and open" method rather than the open Scribus then go searching.

I suspects you have some kind of customization somewhere wrt MIME handling as
1. works on my main system
2. works on a clean VM
3. works for another guy I asked to test

Are you running on a clean xenial install?
