Bug Description
i'm on ubuntu studio 15.10 64bits, lowlatency, because scribus is not up to date on the lts.
on 15.04, i used to work on scribus-ng, which managed french letters as é è à...
however, on the 15.10, it's impossible to launch scribus-ng or svn
why?
i cannot work any more because the obsolete scribus on ubuntu doesn't allow me to type correctly, i just can't type é è à...
do i have to go back to indesign?

There are two packages, scribus and scribus-ng. UbuntuStudio includes scribus (the stable version) but not scribus-ng (unstable/bleeding edge).... well it used to be. Scribus-ng, once was 1.4.0, but now just points at scribus which is at 1.4.5. It is called a transitional package which means it is still there so that those who had it installed will get the update to the new package. So scribus-ng is deprecated.
It seems rather that the real problem is some language specific things are not set properly. In the settings manager->Language Support, make sure all the French languages you wish to use are installed. In scribus make sure to choose the right language for your project as well. Keyboard settings may also effect this.
I am sorry I am not well versed in language differences. Maybe someone else can check this further if those things don't help.
