[Sidebar] Left/Right Reserved (2 Bugs)

Hi,

   I am not sure if this is where to report for the "Sidebar" screenlet, so please pardon me.

   1st Bug: Left Reserved
       - If set as such, the Dock Screenlets will not work, it instead auto-positions the screenlets outside of the sidebar.

   2nd Bug: Right Reserved
       - if set as such, the Desktop Icons do not auto-adjust

My system:
8.10 Intrepid 64-bit
Screenlet 0.1.2

Almost forgot. There is a work around. Anything you already have docked to the sidebar will stay docked when you change to Left Reserved. However, if you change any of the settings on those apps they will pop out agin and must be redocked by changing the settings on the sidebar.

Definitely is a bug relevant for when the sidebar is "docked" to the left or right. Annoying too because widgets that update frequently such as Pidgin pop-out of the sidebar, which then has to be unlocked, the widget re-added, and then the sidebar re-locked.

With Pidgin in particular, I believe this is any time someone on your buddy lists logs in/out, but not for status changes, leading me to believe the pop-out is due to the size of the widget changing (could be useful in troubleshooting).

Would also like to add that I verified this also happens when inserting/removing notes from the Tomboy note widget.

Happens for me too. Running Ubuntu 9.04 and screenlet 0.1.2.

As of now the project is dead. I just don't have the time to work on it.

If someone else is interested in continuing then I'd be glad to hand over
the launchpad team's ownership.
